Ways to get involved at St. Andrew's Church:
Acolytes -- Children and/or adults who participate by helping the Celebrant at the Altar during services.
Altar Guild -- The Altar Guild is the ministry of preparing and maintaining the vessels and vestments used at the Altar.
Bread Bakers - People who prepare the Eucharistic Bread for the Sunday 10 a.m. service
Buildings/Grounds - Assisting the Vestry in the appearance and upkeep of the physical structure and property.
Chalicists – Chalicists assist the clergy in the distribution of the Eucharist, administering the Cup. They are licensed by the Bishop, must be a communicant in good standing, lead the Prayers of the People, and read the 2nd Reading in the Service.
Christian Education/Sunday School - Pre-school/Kindergarten, Elementary, Teens, and Adults (Bible Study of Lessons)
Coffee Hour - People who prepare the Coffee and snacks after the Sunday 10 a.m. service
Communications - Newsletter articles are needed by the 20th of each month for inclusion in the monthly newsletter.
Greeters/Ushers - People who welcome and assist parishioners and visitors to the Church for services.
Hospitality - People who arrange food for special events, such as Baptisms, Confirmations, Birthdays, visits from Bishops
Lectors - Volunteers who read the First Reading at the Service
Mission Council - Elected members of the Congregation who make decisions on Church-related issues, Finances and By-Laws
Newcomers - Welcoming new parishioners to the Church
Nursery - Volunteer who takes care of young children during the service.
Outreach - Collect weekly food donations for the Pickerington & Reynoldsburg food pantries
Pastoral Life - The Pastoral (or Parish) Life Coordinator assists the Vicar with keeping parish and parishioner information current. This is done through parish directory, parish register, and parish membership updates, listings of birthdays and anniversaries, notification of home-bound, sick, or hospitalized, Sunday bulletins and their announcements, semi-monthly ministry schedules, and the like. This volunteer position will soon need assistants to help with the growing complexity of our parish life.
