Father Kevin D. Beesley
Father Kevin was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada and was raised in New England. He has been married for over 26 years and has two sons. Prior to entering the priesthood, Fr. Kevin served in government service and higher education. Fr. Kevin earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Management, and a Master’s in Divinity from Bexley-Seabury Seminary.
While in seminary, Fr. Kevin served as student body president and represented Bexley-Seabury in a meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury, was selected to attend the Preaching Excellence Program in Virginia, and lead the Seminary Leadership Conference hosted at Bexley-Seabury.
Following seminary graduation, Fr. Kevin was ordained as a transitional deacon in 2016 and priest in 2017 in the Diocese of Southern Ohio by the Rt. Rev. Thomas E. Breidenthal. He served at St. Andrew’s from September 2015 to September 2017 as part of his field education and residency. In September 2017, he was called as Curate to All Saints Episcopal Church in New Albany. In October, Fr. Kevin accepted the call to return to St. Andrew’s as Priest in Charge. In addition to his responsibilities as parish priest, Fr. Kevin serves as the chair of the Commission on Congregational Life, member of the Disciplinary Board, and parish transitional consultant in the Columbus area for the Diocese of Southern Ohio.
Fr. Kevin has a passion for Latino ministry, evangelism, and passionately proclaiming the redemptive love of Christ Jesus. He believes that God has called all of us to a place of relationship through love, forgiveness, and mercy that comes through Jesus Christ.
MUSIC, FAMILY, YOUTH, AND CHILDREN MINISTER
Thomas believes in building community and helping young people find hope in a world that often seems to be hopeless. His focus is never telling a person what to believe, but rather helping people ask the questions to help them discover what their faith means to them. He enjoys teaching from the gospels in a way that helps him discover the basic beauty in loving our neighbors as ourselves. He spends time reading, blogging, and podcasting as ways of helping him grow in his own life. He believes strongly in a people active in their communities and seeking to change them with the example that come from Christ’s love.
He enjoys spending time outside either hiking, gardening, and cycling. He is a Trekkie (Star Trek Fan) who enjoys reading and watching science fiction, anime and fantasy. His love for learning has helped in earn a Bachelors and Masters Degree in ministry.
Thomas has been attending St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for three years now with his wife Rebecca. They live in Columbus, Ohio with their two cats Princess Leia and Tuna.
MINISTER OF MUSIC
Jennifer Shively has a Bachelor of Music degree from Heidelberg University in
Vocal Performance and a Master of Arts in Music Education and Vocal Pedagogy from The Ohio State University. She taught Secondary Vocal/Choral Music in Columbus, Chillicothe, and Upper Arlington prior to her full-time job of being a mother to three beautiful daughters. She has taught private voice lessons and has played for numerous local school districts at OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contests, Large Group District and State Contests, Choral Concerts, Musicals, and Variety Shows. She has sung with BelCanto, The Robert Shaw Choral Institute Festival Singers, and the LancasterChorale. She has held music positions in local churches for over 30 years and is currently the Director of Chorus at St. Charles Preparatory School. Jennifer, her wonderful husband of 27 years, and their daughters live in Westerville.
Michael Tigner is a postulant of the Diocese of Southern Ohio and a student at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California. He is completing his first year of studies in partial completion of a master of divinity degree. Michael is pursuing ordination to the priesthood. Michael is married with four children.
